After almost a year of drought, 11 months without water to be precise, rice, cassava and of course corn and black eyes have suffered all over the island, not to mention that the market gardening became very difficult during this period.
And now that for two weeks, almost every day there is a shower, small though, just a few millimeters but just enough to start preparing the soil to replant the seedlings (natural mortality or destruction by fire).
Reforestation areas have been browned and it is in these perimeters that plots will be delimited according to the configuration of the land, parcels of 30 to 40 hectares each, or about fifteen parcels to be reforested for 2017-2018.
Let’s hope that these rains last until April !!!
